Get Your Kids Excited and Ready to Explore!
Never just bring your children along for the journey, without preparing them first. Just as you prepared yourself to make the most of your exploration, do the same for your children.
This means, learning starts before you board the plane. Visit your local library or book store and pick up some books. Try a few websites and apps too. Your children can play games, watch videos, and learn about well-known landmarks, cultural differences and places to visit just for kids. My favorite book thus far is the Mission London: A Scavenger Hunt Adventure for kids. I had no idea my 8 year old son would fall in love with this book. It was packed with pictures and fun facts about some of London's most famous landmarks. Each location or item was numbered with a checkbox for completion. So, once he found the first item, the hunt was on! From gargoyles carved in stones, to the Double Decker buses and Big Ben; he was excited and eager to learn more about London. This book gave him something to look forward to each day we set out to explore. The scavenger hunt made sight-seeing and learning in London much more interesting and exciting. Honestly, it was enjoyable for my husband and I as well. And there's another plus, this travel book for kids makes learning an adventure when visiting Rome, Paris, and Barcelona too!
